San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 10, 2009 — With the recession hitting the law industry hard, there is a new social network for law students that will help law students jump start their legal careers.

The Law Student Network is the result of a 3-month research project on how to best integrate law students into the LawLink environment. “The easy approach was to have an open membership where everyone can freely connect with everyone,” says LawLink CEO Steven Choi. “Instead, we designed the Law Student Social Network to be separate from but interconnected to the Attorney Social Network. That way, both students and attorneys can choose who they connect and share information with. It was hard work, but in the long run it will create a better user experience.”

LawLink offers many services beneficial to law students:

Networking: By joining LawLink, law students are able to easily network with each other and attorneys who practice in their desired fields of the law.

Law School Groups: When a law student joins LawLink, he or she automatically becomes a member of their law school group. This private group has its own document sharing, forum, messaging system and status update features.

Private Law Groups: Law students can also form private law groups, such as study groups, practice area groups and geographic groups.

Public Profiles: Now that employers routinely google job applicants, it is important for law students to control their professional identity online by controlling the search results associated with their name. LawLink allows law students to create a Public Profile containing everything from resumes and writing samples, to references from attorneys. Now, when a law student applies for a job, he or she can simply send a link to their LawLink profile, which contains everything an employer needs to make a hiring decision.

Attorney Job Listings: LawLink classifieds features over 100 attorney job listings a week.

LawLink Answers: Law students can post questions and obtain answers from other law students and over 5,000 attorneys.
