New Delhi: Naukri.com, India’s no. 1 job site introduces NaukriOnChat that allows job search through chat messenger on Gmail/GTalk. It not only enables search for jobs, but also allows viewing job details and applying via chat.
On the initiative, Vibhore Sharma, Senior Vice-President, Product & Technology, Info Edge said, “If you have ever wished for an easier way to find job opportunities, NaukriOnChat is the answer. Instant Messaging is popular and easy to use, and has over 70% of internet users hooked on to chatting. To bring the convenience of chatting to searching, we launched NaukriOnChat. It is a time-efficient way to search job opportunities without having to visit the site.”
Besides being time efficient, this new feature allows users to search for jobs within the privacy of their chat window. Consuming lower bandwidth, the chat feature even works well on non broad-band connections. The search is real time, throwing up live job listings from Naukri.com.
To use NaukriOnChat, add firstname.lastname@example.org as a friend to GTalk list and then type ‘help’ to get instructions. Follow the instructions for searching for new job opportunities. Users who are registered with Naukri.com with the same Gmail ID can apply to jobs via chat. Non registered users can search for jobs and view job descriptions. A user may note job ids and log on to Naukri.com to apply to a job. The service is also beneficial to users who access Gtalk via mobile phone.
In the next phase, Naukri.com plans to extend the service to other chat clients including Yahoo and MSN.
