To help IT job seekers to search for jobs conveniently while on the move, the IT Job Board, a prominent IT job website in the UK, has launched an iPhone application for IT job search.
The unique job search application can also be used on the iPod Touch.
The website is planning to promote the application to the job seekers using email campaigns, online advertisements and a blog.
The application will enable the users to search 19,588 plus IT jobs posted at the site using the application. IT Job Board also has extended its blog hosted through an RSS feed to the job seekers. The blog provides current industry information and regular updates.
The application is designed to allow the users to search for current jobs while on the move. Job seekers can dig in for details such as location, salary, and job title for each search. The unique inbuilt geographical location finder displays local job locations. A shortlist of jobs and related details can be stored in an inbox.
In a release, Jamie Bowler, head of marketing at The IT Job Board, said “Today, more than 10 million Brits use their mobile phone to surf the internet. We listen to the market and our candidates, and create solutions to support their job hunting activities in this competitive climate.”
“With the new iPhone application, we believe we really are first to introduce a cross-platform approach to the market,” he added.
Started in 2002, IT Job Board is exclusively concentrating on the IT job sector, utilizing the potential of the Internet. The company has in its database the details of more than 800,000 IT professionals with details of skills and experience. The company reaches candidates using content campaigns and social networks.
The web site also provides services to the employers through its branded job postings, exclusive employer zone, and targeted email sending and ad copy creations. The site assist the recruiters by filtering and shortlist the applicants. Currently the site assists with recruitment for companies such as Deloitte, Centrica and The Metropolitan Police.
