Have you been to Ebay lately? If not, Ebay has now Ebay Classifieds section for free AD listing, question is if that’s The End of CraigsList? Craigslist Killer?
Craigslist use to compete with Ebay back in the days when Ebay was free to post ads, then Ebay out of the blue started to charge listings and then also special features like adding more pictures etc. I always hated Ebay because, even though I did not sell my product I still have to pay for listing.
Almost 10 years later Ebay implemented new feature called Ebay CLassifieds which allows you to place whole AD for free and it’s locally displayed.
Question is how badly will Craigslist be impacted by it? Or if they will be impacted at all?
Well now you can sell your product on both places , it increases your chance for sale.

I doubt if this will hurt Craigslist at all. When Yahoo was bigger than eBay it tried to take eBay on and failed, and Craigslist is bigger in the local market and my guess is it will fail much like Yahoo did.
Also, my concern about posting things on eBay classifieds would be that if they do kill Craigslist (even though they are part owner of Craigslist) the reason for doing so is that they can start charging for local content.
I think eBay has pulled some stupid moves over the years, they own PayPal, which could have become the internet standard for payments across all sites by charging a single fee to retailers (like credit cards do) instead of charging a percentage fee, making PayPal for large transactions a terrible option….so imagine if they charged a simple $.25 fee on every internet transaction how much money they would make. It would be obscene how much money they would make.
