DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. – A Dauphin County Commissioners dinner Thursday proved helpful to job seekers.
The commissioners examined the accomplishments of 2008 and previewed their plans for 2009.
Commissioner George Hartwick told the crowd companies in the county are hiring. Commissioners have started a Web site to connect those looking for work with those hiring.
“Believe or not, we have many companies in this region that are still in need of skilled workers, even in this economic downturn,” said Hartwick. “And we are attempting to connect displaced workers with those career paths that will allow them to continue to feed their families.”
