Editor & Publisher Honors Florida Classified Publisher

Ocala, FL (Newswire) — USA4SALE Networks has been nominated for a top honor in online publishing by Editor & Publisher and Mediaweek.

The publisher of classifieds websites Ocala4sale.com and Gainesville4sale.com was named an EPpy award finalist in the category of Best Classified Website (under 1 million visitors.) The Seattle Times (nwautos.com) and Harte-Hanks site PennySaverUSA.Com are also finalists.

USA4SALE Networks (usa4sale.net) publishes free classifieds for private sellers. The company provides phone, email and storefront customer support in contrast to national sites like Craigslist. All listings are individually reviewed to eliminate spam, fraud and illegal content, which have found a home in unmoderated classified sites.

“We’re committed to creating the kind of marketplace that is socially responsible,” said publisher Michael Warren. “We want classifieds to be fun, easy-to-use and family friendly. And we aim to create sites that offer a great place for local businesses to advertise.”

The online marketplace offers local businesses paid listings and banner advertising.

The 2009 EPpy™ Awards competition is judged by a panel of 40 industry experts and media specialists who considered about 400 entries. Winners will be announced at the Interactive Media Conference and Trade Show on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans.

From Editor & Publisher: “Media companies with multiple EPpy finalists include The New York Times, CNN and the Las Vegas Sun with four finalists each. USA Today, Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, The Arizona Daily Star and NPR each placed two finalists in the competition.”
