The Sun is painting itself as a champion of the (not currently) working man and the free ads tie in with its populist Get Britain Working campaign, launched as the UK hits a 14-year unemployment high of 2.44 million.
Call this an economy-bites-dog-owner story: Dog News Daily, a website for dog owners and pet industry companies, is donating $1 million worth of ad space on its site to help unemployed dog owners collar a job.
VivaStreet.co.uk, the online classified website, will now offer financial services firms the chance to advertise their proposition for free. Through its new ‘Financial Services’ category on VivaStreet.co.uk, the classifieds site will offer branded adverts comprising text, images, logos and contact details for free.
