If you are selling downloadable items, you can automate the replies by setting up a google gmail account and using their vacation responder. I have found this to be very efficient.

Have to agree on this one. There is a lot of really good advice in this post. When you are posting on Craigslist you must pay attention to your ad. Craigslist gets a lot of traffic but if you just throw up some two bit ad people won’t read it. Make your ads attractive and you’ll get people interested.
